Benchmark

To what end?
To see how our company’s performance measures up against others in a broader context and identify the best practices that will optimise performance. Another advantage of benchmarking is that it allows us to detect market trends and changes and harness their potential to promote innovation.
What does it involve?
Benchmarking basically consists in identifying a product or service of particular interest and comparing our efficiency in terms of productivity, quality and practices with that of other companies with a reputation for excellence. Once the data has been collected, it must be analysed to determine discrepancies between our current performance and that of the benchmark companies, identify the performance gap and define our objectives. These objectives should be aligned with the organisation’s overall goals and lead to an action plan which, ideally, will be implemented within the existing operational structure.
